Federal employee awarded $25,000 on EEOC appeal. Complainant filed an EEO on the basis of race, color, parental status and retaliation (reprisal) based on his prior EEO activity. The Agency issued a FAD finding that Complainant should be reinstated, awarded $15,000 in non-pecuniary damages and attorneys fees and costs of $6,379.35. The Complainant appealed to EEOC’s Office of Federal Operations. The OFO found in his favor and awarded $25,000 in non-pecuniary damages and $25,517.39 in fees and costs.This case emphasizes how important it is for federal employees to be represented by an experienced federal employee attorney.
